88-98 Chevy OBS Hood
88-98 Chevy OBS Hood
If you love PacMan, Neon Colors, and spending money, this is for you.
Maybe the only panel on your OBS that WON'T flake all the paint off.
Sure it’s Ridiculous but if you are pouring money into a truck built in the same decade where screen savers guarded CRT monitors against burning your solitaire game into the screen, then you have already leaned into none of it needing to make sense.
This performance piece is recreated from molds of an original OEM hood, not aftermarket, to achieve the best fit and finish.
Finishes
Top Skin Options
High Gloss Clear (OEM Finish): The top skin is finished in a high gloss clear coat with OEM orange peel level finish. The bottom skin is not treated with a clear coat and presents a satin look. No imperfections greater than 3mm in the weave or clear coat. This option is best for builders who plan to paint some or all of the hood or where an additional clear coat by a professional is planned for the truck.
High Gloss Clear (Show Grade): The top skin is finished in a high gloss clear coat, blocked and polished. No scratches, pinholes, haze, or imperfections in the weave or clear coat. The bottom skin is not treated with a clear coat and presents a satin look. This option is best for builders who want a show-quality clear coat and do not plan any additional painting for their truck project.
Satin Clear (Show Grade): The top skin is finished in a satin clear coat finish. This is sometimes referred to as a ‘Dry Carbon’ finish. No scratches, pinholes, haze, or imperfections in the weave or clear coat. The bottom skin is not treated with a clear coat and presents a satin look. This option is best for builders who want a show-quality satin clear coat and do not plan any additional painting for their truck project.
Bottom Skin Options:
Standard plain weave carbon fiber with a satin look finish straight from the mold. No need for additional clear coat protection since the bottom of the hood is not exposed to constant UV sunlight.
Shipping
Shipping charges will be provided separately from the hood purchase.
After your hood is near completion, we will contact you with Freight shipping options for your approval.
Once you approve the option, we will email an invoice to collect freight shipping that you can pay online.
When the shipping fees are paid, we will finalize the booking for pickup by the Freight shipping company and forward tracking information to you.
Shipping will need to be paid in full by the customer before the hood is released to the freight company for delivery.
Lead Time on Orders:
We know you don’t want to hear this but we’d rather give you the bad news up front instead of some short lead time and then a bunch of delays.
These take time to craft so expect approximately 3 months to give us time to make your hood, mess up, make it again, fix little things that bug us but you’ll never notice, build the crate, and finally get it out the door to you. Most of the time, we can beat the stated lead time… and sometimes we take longer but it gives you a timeframe to better plan around.
Other things you need to know:
Stock Hinges will bolt up but don't even think about using the stock springs!!! You can get a fancy set of aftermarket hinges that offer carbon fiber gas strut options, or use hood pins if you are handy with a drill.
Fitment: Keep in mind that while all of the composite pieces we offer are crafted to be well-fitting on all vehicles, the manufacturing tolerances of older vehicles may require adjustments to assure a perfect fit.
