Modern Recreation of a classic STYLE

Built for 1964.5–1966 Ford Mustangs, this hood uses all factory hardware attachment points for the hood hinges and latch for a straightforward installation. The underside has been redesigned for maximum clearance, making it a better fit for modern performance-oriented builds while keeping a clean, intentional appearance.

This is a premium alternative to heavier factory steel and lower-end aftermarket options, made for builders who want a part that looks right, fits the theme of the car, and supports a higher-end build, reducing the trunk lid weight from the 28lbs metal trunk to right around 9 lbs with the carbon fiber version.

The top side of the trunk lid was designed to stay true to the original 1964.5–1966 Mustang body lines while delivering the weight savings and premium appearance of carbon fiber. The outer shape looks clean and intentional on the car, making it a strong fit for builds that need a lighter panel without giving up the classic Mustang look.

The underside has been redesigned to reduce unnecessary inner bracing for a cleaner structure, lower weight, and more usable room where bulky stock-style construction is not needed. Built to follow the original Mustang body lines while giving the car a sharper, more performance-focused appearance.

Top Skin Options:

• Non-Cosmetic Carbon Fiber - For builders who plan to paint the hood and do not intend any of the carbon fiber to be exposed.

• 2x2 Split-V Twill Weave - OEM Economy Clear - OEM orange peel finish with no more than 3 pinholes per sq ft. No imperfection greater than 3mm in the weave or clear coat. This is the best option for builders who plan to apply paint in some areas of the hood or plan to do additional clear coats on the truck. 

Bottom Skin Options:

• Standard plain weave carbon fiber with a satin look finish straight from the mold.  No need for additional clear coat protection since the bottom of the hood is not exposed to constant UV sunlight.

Shipping charges will be provided separately from the Trunk purchase.

• After your hood is near completion, we will contact you with Freight shipping options for your approval.

• Once you approve the option, we will email an invoice to collect freight shipping that you can pay online.

• When the shipping fees are paid, we will finalize the booking for pickup by the Freight shipping company and forward tracking information to you.

• Shipping will need to be paid in full by the customer before the hood is released to the freight company for delivery.

Installation Notes

• Retains all factory mounting points for hinges and key latch.

• Under no circumstances should stock trunk strut bars be used with this trunk lid. If you are using aftermarket hinges, choose the lowest-resistance gas strut option available.

• As with any hand-finished composite body panel, minor fitting, blocking, trimming, and adjustment may be required during installation. Older vehicles often vary from side to side due to factory production tolerances, age, prior repairs, or previous bodywork.

• If you need perfect body lines, we suggest you purchase and fit to the car prior to painting, so corrections can be made to the body to better fit the lid, if necessary.

• This trunk was built to fit well, but it is still a hand-finished composite part intended for real builders. If you are expecting any body panel to drop into place without prep or adjustment, this is probably not the product for you.
